In continuing my 20 plus year love affair with analog photography I utilize the cyanotype process as a way to make tactile photographs in a historical way. I love the happy accidents and imperfect way the chemistry cures on the paper. When creating the "template" I hand paint the chemistry on without much thought or preplanning, once it's time to lay down the negatives I place them quickly and instinctively, again often cutting them to fit in that moment--holding my breath during the development process, excited and in awe of the alchemical visual magic that often occurs. I embrace imperfections and organic movement inspired by natural forms.
